DESCRIPTION:Presentation\n\n\nThe Institute of Space Sciences (IEEC-CSIC)
is an institution at the forefront of scientific and technological researc
h with the mission of contributing to the general advance of studies of th
e Cosmos. \n\nThe Instrumentation and Future Technologies Technical Commit
tee (IFT) is one of the six technical committees of the IEEE Geoscience an
d Remote Sensing Society (GRSS). Its mission is to foster international co
operation in advancing the state-of-the-art in geoscience remote sensing i
nstrumentation and technologies that improve knowledge for the betterment
of society and the global environment.\n\nThe 3rd Institute of Space Scie
nces Summer School is linked to the 1st IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensi
ng society (GRSS) Instrumentation and Future Technologies (IFT) Remote Sen
sing Summer School (IFT-R3S).\n\nObjective\n\n\nThe objective of the first
Summer School on Instrumentation and Future Technologies for Remote Sensi
ng (IFT-R3S) is to promote future research in remote sensing\, to connect
future PhD students to research topics under the IEEE GRSS IFT Technical
Committee\, and to highlight the educational activities of the GRSS societ
 y. This IFT-R3S is meant to be the first of an itinerant series (annual
or biannual) of IFT-R3S editions\, moving to different towns and continen
ts and hosted by other Instrumentation and Future Technologies Technical
Committee (IFT-TC) groups. \n\nTopics\n\n\nThe topics of this edition are:
  \n\nSAR principles\, modes of operation\, spaceborne instrument\, process
 ing\, interferometric SAR\, bi-static SAR\, reflectometry using Global Nav
igation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and other Sources of OPportunity (SoOP) a
nd Lidar.\n\nAddressed to\n\n\nThe school is open to any interested scient
ist and engineer\, but it focuses on Master students\, junior Ph.D. stude
nts and young professionals\, as a way to promote research careers in remo
te sensing technologies in general and instrumental and future technologie
 s in particular. \n\n \n\n \n\n\n\n \n \n \n
      \n \n \n \n \n

\n\n\n\nThe visit to the UPC remote sensing and nanosat laboratories is
kindly offered by the Unitat María de Maeztu CommSensLab - UPC\n\n\n
 \n \n \n \n \n \n
