How to get here - Directions

The Institute of Space Sciences and the Vila Universitària are located at the Campus of the Universitat Autonòma de Barcelona (UAB), close to Bellaterra and about 20 km away from downtown Barcelona.

You can check our location here: https://goo.gl/maps/fQYxw88zFy72

From downtown Barcelona to the UAB Campus (Institute and Vila Universitària)

Take the FGC train lines S2 or S6 (link here http://www.fgc.cat/eng/index.asp) departing from Plaza Catalunya and stopping at the Universitat Autonòma (UAB) stop. The trip is about 40 minutes. Beware you need a 2-zone ticket (4 euros single ride, 20 euros for a pack of 10 tickets - card T-10 2-zones - if you plan on going to the city several times).

From the Barcelona (El Prat) airport to the UAB Campus

The only direct transportation from the airport to the UAB Campus is a taxi. It is a 30-40 minutes drive up to 1 hour in rush hour. The cost of the service is around 40-50 €.

Alternatively, take the bus service Aerobus directly from the airport terminals to Plaça Catalunya (6 €) and then from there to the Campus UAB by FGC train (see above).

From the UAB Campus train station to the Institute

Walk from the FGC UAB station across campus to the Institute (10-15 minutes walk - map below). Once you get off at the UAB station, walk along until you reach Plaça Civica (main square) and then through a wooden bridge until you reach in your left the main road (Eix Central). Walk on for over 5 minutes (you will pass under two big buildings) until you see an over-road bridge (picture 1). Now leave the road to your left  and walk along a bit more before reaching us (picture 2).
